From the time of massive people-driven Marina protests to reinstate bull sport Jallikattu, Haasan had begun tweeting fervently about the uprising and its commitment to peaceful protesting. Over months, Haasan has lent voice to various key issues supposed to affect the general public and specific sectors GST, corruption in levy of entertainment tax, dengue, environment-harming land appropriation in north Chennai, and significantly the common medical entrance test.
Now, his fans believe their Aandavar (A moniker for Kamal Haasan used by his fans mainly on social media) is giving wings to their expectations. "He always wants to bring about a change in Tamil Nadu," said Suresh S, a radio jockey and an ardent follower of Haasan. "He is trying to get a footprint in politics. I want him to identify teams to follow-up his tweets with real action on the ground. I guess he will want to get some field work done before he enters politics."
