GIRIDIH: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said his government would "go to any extent" to bring to an end to criminalisation of politics as development of the state is possible only when the rule of law prevails.

"All round development of Jharkhand is the top most priority of the government and maintaining law and order is a necessity to achieve the desired development," he said at a public meeting here.

Appealing to the youths to come forward and cooperate with police to rein in the criminals and extremists, the Chief Minister said his government has given freedom to police to check anti-social forces.

The Prime Minister is committed to ensure development of villages. Every panchayat is granted more than Rs 80 lakh to develop the villages, Das said.

"We have signed a memorandum of understanding with NTPC...and the government will be able to provide electricity to all villages of the state by 2018," he said.

With an aim to develop the state as an IT hub, the Chief Minister said that he would Bangalore and assured that land at HEC area in Ranchi would be given in a week's time to those keen to invest in the state.

"We have enough potential for growth in tourism sector and Parasnath in Giridih district could be made a tourism hub," Das added.
