Will ensure a corruption-free Bengal panchayat: BJP Manifesto

West Bengal’s BJP president Sukanta Majumdar released the manifesto, 'Sankalpa Patra', on Tuesday for the panchayat polls.

"We aim to create a corruption-free panchayat. There is large-scale corruption and loot in the system and the central government's schemes did not reach the beneficiaries, including PM Awas Yojana. There are at least 45-46,000 party workers on ground fighting for the rural polls,” said BJP national vice-president Dilip Ghosh.

“Major corruption in the panchayat system during Trinamool’s regime has been witnessed and it must change. PM Narendra Modi’s Garib Kalyan schemes must reach the common people. The PM today mentioned corruption. Despite so much corruption, no action has been taken in Bengal,” Ghosh said.


Leader of Opposition (LoP), Suvendu Adhikari, claimed that the State Election Commission has been converted into a branch organisation of Trinamool. “Until the last counting of votes, BJP will not stop its fight in the panchayat. We will go for a legal battle, fight on the road and in every booth. We aim to establish democracy. We have limited scope but we don’t want deaths.”

BJP has talked about a nine-pronged strategy for the upcoming polls with promises to bring corruption-free panchayats.
