Wildlife census in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in 2016

The wildlife census at Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve would be conducted next year. The last census was conducted in February 2012.

ERODE: The wildlife census at Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve would be conducted next year.

The last census was conducted in February 2012.

Deputy Director of the Forest Reserve C H Padma told reporters that as per the previous census, there are 1100 elephants, 56 Tigers in the forest.

She said a proposal was sent to Tamil Nadu government for the overall development of the STR at a cost of Rs 2.20 crore.
