PUNE: Kamala Laxman, well known author and wife of legendary cartoonist R K Laxman, passed away due to old age ailments here today, family sources said.

She was 89.

Kamala's demise came about ten months after Laxman breathed his last in January this year.

A devoted wife, she looked after Laxman ensuring proper medical care and comfort during the period when his health was failing, requiring frequent hospitalisation in Pune and Mumbai.
