Asaduddin Owaisi slams communal vigilantism on Kanwar route, demands police action
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly criticised reports that some dhaba (roadside eatery) owners on the Delhi-Dehradun highway were allegedly asked to "open their pants" to verify their religion during the Kanwar Yatra.

Owaisi questioned why such incidents are happening now when, according to him, there were no issues on the route 10 years ago. "Many hotels near Muzaffarnagar highway have been running peacefully for years. Why is this happening now?" he asked.

He also hit out at the authorities, saying, "Who are these vigilante groups? Are they running the government or is the administration? The police must arrest those responsible."

The incident has sparked concern over rising vigilantism and communal tension during the Kanwar Yatra.
