Why no full-time defence minister, asks P Chidambaram

MUMBAI: P Chidambaram on Saturday blasted the BJP government for its failure to appoint a full-time defence minister even as India’s neighbours ratchet up the pressure through frequent cross border incursions and firings.

The former finance minister said there have been 63 incidents of violations on the LoC in October alone but prime minister Modi thinks that nobody should either criticize the government or raise it on a public platform.
