When in power, Congress-NCP did nothing over Dhangar quota: CM Devendra Fadnavis
MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today accused the opposition of politicising the issue of Dhangar reservations and said the Congress-NCP did not bother to resolve the issue when they were in power.

Talking to reporters here, Fadnavis said his government was formed on October 31, 2014 and NCP chief Sharad Pawar wrote to the Centre on the issue on November 8.

"Why did Congress-NCP not send a proposal for reservations for Dhangar community when they were in power in the state and in the Centre?

"Congress-NCP do not feel guilty about not being able to find a solution to the long-pending demand. They are just interested in politicising it," the Chief Minister said.

"It is true that we have not yet submitted a proposal to the Centre. We will send a detailed and comprehensive proposal as we don't want a fiasco like in the case of Maratha reservations (which were struck down by High Court)," Fadnavis said.
