The first draft of the Revised Master Plan 2031, a comprehensive development plan (CDP) that will determine the city's growth, will be out for public comments next month. This will be Bengaluru's fourth CDP, and the first to cover a 16-year period, as against the earlier ten-year period. Civic experts V Ravichandar and Rejeet Mathews of World Resources Institute have pointed out to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Bengaluru City Development Minister K J George the shortcomings in the existing master plan process and that Bengaluru should move towards strategic spatial planning.
