PNB fraud: Nirav Modi didn't meet PM at Davos, clarifies BJP
BJP today slammed the Congress party for dragging the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the PNB fraud case involving celebrity jeweller Nirav Modi.

"The complaint was made on January 29 and an FIR was lodged after that. Til lnow, CBI and ED have taken speedy action in the wake of the complaint. ED has raided 9 properities including threee in Surat, 4 in Mumbai and 2 in Delhi. Rs 1,300 cr has been seized and action has been taken to revoke the passport. Lookout notice has also been issued," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a press conference.

He added, "Nirav Modi, his group and friends tried to bypass banking system ...I wish to make it very clear that no one shall be spared who sought to derail the banking system to help Nirav Modi."


Prasad then slammed Congress for "leveling baseless allegations" against PM Modi.

"What is this word 'Chhota Modi'? BJP takes strong offence to the kind of language being used by describing someone like that. It is derogatory, scandalous and demeaning," he said.

PM never met Nirav Modi, he emphasized and advised Congress to stop "doing picture politics."
