Wet spell over Delhi NCR to continue
The monsoon features continue to prevail over plains of NW-India with moist easterly wind flow prevailing in the region at lower levels.

O.P. Singh, deputy director general of meteorology, regional meteorological centre, New Delhi said that during the last one week, isolated rainfall has been occurring over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Western Uttar Pradesh and east Rajasthan and at few places over East Uttar Pradesh with isolated heavy rainfall.
"The normal date of withdrawal of south west monsoon from Delhi NCR is September 21. In most years the monsoon withdraws from Delhi by the end of September. On analysis of the database of last 70 years, it is observed that monsoon withdrawal from Delhi NCR occurred in October only on 7 occasions," said Mr Singh.
On October 1, the meteorological center had indicated monsoon withdrawal from northwest India likely to get delayed and break the previous record of latest withdrawal of 13 th October of 1956 and 1959.
Thus the length of the current monsoon is likely to exceed 120 days, breaking the previous record of 111 days recorded in 1956.
