West Bengal: TMC government has incurred more debt than Left regime: Surjya Kanta Mishra
Surjya Kanta Mishra alleged that the Mamata-led government has incurred more debts in power than what had been left outstanding by Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

"Mamata has been alleging that she inherited a huge debt left behind by the Bhattacharjee government. But during Mamata's rule, the state's debt has increased some two-three times than what was left behind by the Left Front government," Mishra alleged during a CPI(M) meet here.
Instead of repaying the debt, the TMC government led by Mamata has taken huge loans and the total debt of the state has gone up, he alleged, adding that even then, the chief minister is criticising the Left Front government for leaving behind a huge debt.
Mishra also claimed that it is for the first time in the history of West Bengal that a senior Cabinet minister is in jail after being arrested in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam but he is continuing in the post.
Speaking at the event, CPI(M) West Bengal secretary Biman Bose said the party would soon launch an agitation to defeat the Trinamool Congress in the polls.
