Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Sunday spoke to the father of the victim and assured him of a proper probe into the incident. A six-member SIT has already been formed in connection with the matter by him.

The family said the Bengal CM had spoken to them and assured them of a meeting tomorrow at Bhawani Bhavan. The minor girl's body was recovered on Sunday.
The total arrests in this connection so far have been two. The second arrest was made following overnight raids and search operations. Another accused was arrested on Sunday evening. Both the arrested persons will be produced before a district court today. The autopsy of the minor's body was completed on Sunday night.
The body of the 12-year-old minor was recovered from a pond on Sunday morning. She had been missing since Saturday. Tension erupted in Baruipur on Sunday after her body was recovered. Mob outrage and protests were witnessed in the area. The deceased girl's family members claimed that the victim was raped and murdered. They said that the girl went out to buy some items and then went missing.
Mamata Banerjee, in a Facebook Live, claimed that the huge police deployment, coupled with the presence of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in front of the residences of Mamata Banerjee and her nephew, was done deliberately to prevent them from reaching Baruipur to meet the family members of the minor victim.
