KOLKATA: West Bengal minister Rachpal Singh today courted controversy when it was seen that his personal security was tying the laces of his shoe at the state secretariat after a programme.

Singh, the planning and programme implementation minister, had removed his shoes to offer homage to eminent sculptor Ramkinkar Baij on his birthday at 'Nabanna', the secretariat.

His security personnel was seen tying the laces of his shoe after Singh, a former IPS officer, finished the programme and the scene went viral on TV channels.

The minister, however, did not say anything when reporters sought his comment.
