West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee praises Nita Ambani, ISL teams

KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today praised Nita Ambani, the founder and chairperson of Football Sports Development Limited, and the participating teams for making the Indian Super League(ISL) an event of "huge popularity" among the football lovers.

"I congratulate all the 8 participating teams and all the organisers, especially Nita Ji, for making ISL an event of such huge popularity among football lovers and reaching it down to the grassroot level", she said in a facebook post.

Atletico de Kolkata won the inaugural edition of ISL on Saturday.

"To dedicate the cup to the people, our Government and Kolkata Municipal Corporation will felicitate all the ISL participants on 24th December at Netaji Indoor Stadium at 1 PM.",she said.

"I am inviting all of you to join", she said adding "Once again, congratulations and best wishes to all the ISL participants."
