West Bengal BJP brought out torch rallies across the state, wishing good health of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after PM Modi's security lapses in Punjab. The Bengal BJP has planned a two-day programme on this issue, in line with the central BJP’s plans.

BJP state President Sukanta Majumdar said that the women’s wing of the saffron party will offer prayers at different temples across the state for Modi’s weelbeing while the youth wing will take out torch rallies across the state, as a mark of protest against the incident in Punjab.

“We have seen that there was the security breach and the Punjab police took the role of mere spectators. It was a well-planned affair and the police could have easily arrested the protesters to clear the passage,” Majumdar said.

The BJP President said all the local MLAs and MPs, who are fit and not Covid affected, will also take part in the rally. The BJP cadres also organized candle-light march in various parts of the state.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders and cadres recited the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra - a verse from the Rig Veda, all across the country, as believed to bestow longevity for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The torch rallies will also continue tomorrow.
