West Asia push: Israeli President Rueven Livlin visit likely in November
NEW DELHI: India is in talks with Israel to host its President Rueven Livlin in November in what will be the first visit of the key West Asian partner to the country during the tenure of the Narendra Modi government.

The visit, focusing primarily on security partnership and innovation, will send a strong signal on growing ties in areas ranging from defence and counter terrorism to water resources, agriculture and startups, officials said.

Livlin is expected to visit several cities during his trip, people familiar with the matter said, although his itinerary is to be finalised.

Rivlin had said in August that he was looking forward to his visit to India later in the year. “The cooperation between the two countries is something that is said all over. The cooperation is not only in innovation but you know very well that we are trying our very best to address problems of agriculture, water, energy , cyber and every need of security that we have to work out in order to be prepared for the kind of burden of security that is imposed on both people,“ he said.
