We will offer full cooperation in extraditing Mehul Choksi: Antigua & Barbuda government
Speaking on the sideline of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, Foreign Minister of Antigua & Barbuda, Chet Greene, assured full cooperation in the matter of extradition of Mehul Choksi to India.

External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had a brief meeting with her counterpart from Antigua & Barbuda. It is also learnt that the government of Antigua & Barbuda
had expressed their wish to have a one-on-one meeting with India to discuss Mehul Choksi's extradition process.


Chet Greene, however, did not lay down a time frame for Choksi's extradition and categorically stated that the entire legal procedure will be followed in extraditing Chowksi.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj,conveyed to her Antiguan counterpart that there was immense expectation in India regarding Mehul Choksi's extradition since he left the country after committing a massive fraud.


Sushma Swarai is expected to hold a total of over 30 bilateral meetings as part of her visit to the United States.

Mehul Choksi, a fugitive in the PNB fraud case, is reported to have recently taken the citizenship of Antigua, a Caribbean nation, and India has begun extradition proceedings against him too.
