Guwahati: While attempts are made to bring back the National People's Party (NPP) back in the BJP led coalition, its legislature party leader L Jayantakumar said Tuesday that the four NPP MLAs will not go back on the party's decision.

Jayantakumar said the four NPP MLAs didn't succumb to the "pressure" from Assam's Himanta Biswa Sarma in a meeting with Meghalaya Chief minister Conrad Sangma.

"This is a reiteration of the very fact that none of the four NPP MLAs will support any BJP minority government in Manipur, even if the chief minister of Manipur is replaced. This press conference in presence of all MLAs of SPF, including former Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh, displays a clear majority," Ningombam Bupenda Meitei, spokesperson of Congress said.
