JAIPUR: Rajasthan police will file a detail report on the violent incidents in the wake of the Gurjar stir in response the notice issued by the Supreme Court, Director General of Police A S Gill said on Wednesday.
Terming as a "national shame" the week-long violence that accompanied the Gurjar protest, a bench of Justices Arijit Pasayat and D K Jain yesterday directed the Governments of Rajasthan, Haryana, UP and Delhi to submit their action taken reports on the incidents.
"I am yet to receive the apex court's notice and as soon as we received it, a report would be submitted to the honourable court taking every aspect of the violent incidents that rocked the state for six-days," Gill told PTI today.
The bench asked the DGPs of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh besides the Commissioner of Delhi police to file their affidavits within 10 days as to what actions have been taken and/or are proposed to be taken against the offenders.
"It is a national shame when hordes of people are destroying public and private properties," the observed while taking suo motu cognizance of the incidents on the basis of media reports.
The apex court posted the matter for further hearing on June 18.
