We should be ready for polls: Tarun Chugh to BJP J&K core panel

BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday held a core group meeting of party's Jammu and Kashmir unit and take stock of organisational activities while conveyed that as political party be prepared for elections.

The meeting was also attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, its state unit head Ravinder Raina, plans were also made to organise programme for 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mann Ki Baat on April 30.

"It was an organisational meeting, the party leaders take stock of organisational work and as a political party in democratic set up we should always be ready for elections, and that has been conveyed to the leaders," Chugh, who is also the party's incharge for Jammu and Kashmir, said.


However, he added it is the prerogative of the Election Commission to call elections.

A detailed discussion was held on various organisational activities to be started in upcoming days and reach out to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of the central government, he said.

In the meeting, as per the feedback received from the ground, people have been availing benefits of the Centre's welfare schemes and their is a positive environment of the Centre's governance, he claimed.

Chugh also said like in other parts of the country, the BJP is making wide arrangements for to organise programme to listen Prime Minister's 100th mann ki Baat on April 30. Most election-related processes, including rationalisation of polling stations according to the delimitation exercise and summary revision of the rolls had been completed by November-December, but polls could not be planned due to the onset of winter.
