We need to be careful of exam mafia-Centre nexus: Congress

Amid the uproar over the leaking of a CBSE examination paper, Sibal said on Friday that the new system only helped the mafia.

Kapil Sibal also stated that the two fundamental pillars for safeguarding democracy, media and judiciary, have been completely subverted by the ruling dispensation.
NEW DELHI: Congress leader and former human resource development minister Kapil Sibal asked the government at whose behest it had changed the system of preparing different zone-wise sets of question papers for Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations and replaced it with identical papers across the country.

Amid the uproar over the leaking of a CBSE examination paper, Sibal said on Friday that the new system only helped the mafia and alleged that there was a nexus between the mafia and some people in the government.

“Clearly, there is a mafia at work in leaking examination papers. After Vyapam and CSS, now the CBSE examination papers have been leaked.

Most surprising is that nobody is taking responsibility for these leaks,” Sibal said at the Congress’ official briefing. “It is only the exam mafia that has benefited with this changes, and it seems there is a nexus between the exam mafia and some people in the present government,” Sibal said.
“The CBSE chief knew eight hours before the exam, as the email with the leaked paper was circulated at 1.30 am. How can this government protect the nation, if it can’t protect the future of our students?”

The Congress leader said that ever since the Narendra Modi government had taken charge not only the education system but also vital organs of democracy, whether it be Parliament, judiciary, media or even industry, were being “captured and controlled” in order to implement the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh agenda.
“Just see what is happening. Even a no-confidence motion is not being allowed, important Bills are being brought by wrongly camouflaging as Money Bills in order to bypass Parliamentary scrutiny. The Prime Minister does not take questions in Parliament. Barring a few exceptions, media houses have been captured and controlled,” Sibal said.
