We know what’s happening, don’t want to talk now: Disha Ravi’s mother
When contacted over phone, Disha’s mother Manjula Ravi said: “We know what’s happening. We don’t want to speak to media at this juncture.”

Disha’s house was the first to be built in the locality around five years ago, recalls a shopowner in the neighbourhood. A few of her neighbours expressed concern for Disha. “Most of us are newcomers here. Disha would take her dog out in the mornings and evenings. The mother and daughter have a small garden outside their compound. They would attend to it every day,” a neighbourhood woman told TOI.
Asked whether they saw Disha being arrested, a couple said, “We were walking back home around 3.30pm when we noticed two cars parked outside her house. Two men were standing near the gate and we saw a ‘police’ sticker on the windshield of the cars. We didn’t notice anything unusual and we walked away. Another neighbour called around 6pm saying she saw Disha being taken in one of the cars but we never realised that she had been arrested by Delhi Police.”
A shopkeeper recalled Disha visiting him for bread, snacks and chocolates. “The dog always accompanied her. I don’t know anything about her arrest or the case,” he said.
