We have to remain very alert in Kashmir: Sushilkumar Shinde

Shinde today said the suicide attack in Srinagar is an indicator that the government has to remain "very alert" in Kashmir Valley.

NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today said the suicide attack in Srinagar is an indicator that the government has to remain "very alert" in Kashmir Valley.

"We are analysing how the attack took place," he said, adding that it is difficult to predict when terror will strike.

"But it (the attack) has given an indication that we have to remain very alert in Kashmir," Shinde said on the sidelines of an event here.

The Home Minister said the attack, which claimed the lives of five CRPF troopers, is a "sad incident" and the agencies concerned will take proper action.

Two terrorists, disguised as cricketers, today stormed a CRPF camp near a school at Bemina in Srinagar, killing five of its personnel in a major suicide attack in the city after a gap of three years in which the militants were suspected to be from Pakistan.
