GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister, Tarun Gogoi on Saturday lampooned All India United Democractic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal’s third front proposal and said that congress is not having such bad days that it will come to power with help of third front.

Gogoi said that third front exist in Ajmal’s dream. Gogoi also raised question on the source of funding of BJP in the recently concluded assembly polls.

“BJP spent highest amount of money in 2014 Lok Sabha election. In assembly polls 2016 to they have spent much more than us in advertisement and publicity. Where have they got this money from?" Gogoi questioned

The chief minister said that BJP attacks congress as corrupt however from where did BJP got so much money. Will someone give money without any benefit? Non-corrupt government statement is just a slogan of BJP.

BJP’s Lok Sabha MP from Guwahati Bijoya Chakraborty countered and said Congress has taken huge money from traders in Fancy Bazar (wholesale hub of Northeast India) during elections and that is why there is unprecedented rise in the price of commodities in the state.

Ajmal recently has stated that efforts are on to cobble third front with Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF).

Both AGP and BPF are alliance partner of BJP in Assam has jointly contested the recent assembly polls. Ajmal said, “AIUDF will get between 24 to 40 seats in the 126 member assembly. Congress can also join the third front.”
