We are the only pan-Indian party, Congress shrinking: BJP National Executive
BJP's win in Assam signifies a "major ideological victory" for it, the resolution said, adding it came against the backdrop of "the threat of demographic invasion the state has faced".

The party resolution passed at the conclave said: “BJP is today the only pan-India party in the country. BJP is also emerging as the natural party of governance in many states too.
Congress is shrinking by day and all the other parties have limited regional presence only.” The resolution further stated that the BJP national executive understands the significance of this issue and also appreciates the great responsibility it places on the party.
“We call upon the workers to make BJP the ‘Party of the Present’ drawing support from all sections of the society...(We) reassure the countrymen that the BJP will be the ‘Party of the Future’ shaping a bright tomorrow for the country under the dynamic leadership of PM Modi,” the party said. At the conclave, the BJP brass was engaged in chalking out the blueprint for the party’s electoral battle in UP and other states where assembly polls are due in a few months.
It also dedicated a substantial part to the future plans of expanding its footprint in states where it has traditionally had a weak presence. The immediate concern for the party now is to win in UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur and hopefully Punjab. These states go to polls in early 2017. But BJP has plans up its sleeve for other states too.
The resolution dealt with the victory in Assam, an event BJP sees as an opening of doors for itself in the northeast. The increase in BJP vote percentage in Kerala (15% for the NDA), West Bengal (11%) and Tamil Nadu was also emphasised.
