A video of Pawar’s angry reaction during a surprise visit to Pimpri Chinchwad has gone viral on social media.
“The Entire IT Park Is Moving Out”
While inspecting civic issues like waterlogging in the area early morning, Pawar said, “We are ruined. The entire IT Park of Hinjewadi is moving out. It’s going out of my Pune, out of Maharashtra to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Don’t you care at all?”He was speaking to local Sarpanch Ganesh Jambhulkar, who had raised complaints about the condition of the area in front of the media.
Pawar, clearly upset, said, “Temples are displaced when dams are constructed. Say what you want, I’ll listen, but I will do what I want to.”
What Is Hinjewadi IT Park?
Hinjewadi is home to the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, a major tech and business zone spread over 2,800 acres. It was developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and has offices of over 800 companies.Many people believe this park helped put Pune on the map as a major IT hub. If companies start shifting out, it could be a big blow to Maharashtra’s economy and jobs.
