WB govt employees court arrest

KOLKATA: Altogether 688 employees belonging to Trinamol Congress-backed West Bengal Government Employees Federation today courted arrest demanding implementation of the Pay Commission among other things.

Police sources said that 688, including 95 women courted arrest after a law violation programme. Their other demands included payment of enhanced d.a and house rent and bonus at the rate of 8.33 per cent.

Trinamool Congress leaders Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, MLA and Mukul Roy, MP, addressed the employees before the law violation.
