Mamata Banerjee allocated the key finance portfolio to former FICCI secretary-general Amit Mitra and Commerce, Industries and Parliamentary Affairs department to her close aide Partha Chatteerjee.
Portfolios of other cabinet ministers and ministers of state would be announced soon, the chief minister told her maiden press conference after holding the first cabinet meeting at the Writers' Buildings.
"I will keep some departments with me," Banerjee said without disclosing the ones she would keep.
A few days ago, Banerjee had said that she would like to hold the Home, Health and Education departments.
She said that beside herself, 35 ministers took oath. "Congress (Trinamool Congress ally) will communicate the names of five ministers of state," Banerjee added.
