Water tanker scam: AAP, BJP fight over inaction against Sheila Dikshit

NEW DELHI: Controversy surrounding the alleged scam in Delhi’s water tanker system resurfaced on Saturday with both the Aam Aadmi Party and BJP accusing each other of complicity in preventing action against former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
While a complaint filed by Opposition leader Vijender Gupta with Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has been taken up by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) for probe, AAP Water Minister Kapil Mishra questioned progress on “three FIRs already filed” with the same agency. On Saturday, Gupta met ACB Chief MK Meena and sought investigation into “the role of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal”.
An official statement from Gupta’s office said, he had asked for “a critical and in-depth examination of the role of the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders in the Water Tankers Distribution System scam.”
Mishra, who presided over preparation of the Fact Finding Report on the alleged scam, shot back asking progress on previous FIRs. “There are 3 FIRs already filed in ACB. What has happened to them?” he asked.
