Water Resources secretary given additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment

New Delhi: Water Resources Secretary Upendra Prasad Singh has been given the additional charge of the Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, from Monday, an official order said Friday.

Singh, a 1985 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, is currently serving as the Secretary of Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.

"The competent authority has approved assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment to Upendra Prasad Singh..., Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation from 12.08.2019 to 17.08.2019 during the period of absence on leave of Heera Lal Samariya," the official order said.


Meanwhile, Petroleum Secretary M M Kutty has been given additional charge of Secretary, Steel Ministry from Saturday.

Kutty, a 1985-batch IAS officer of the Union Territory cadre, is presently serving as the Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

He will be holding the additional charge from August 10 to 19, the period when Steel Secretary Binoy Kumar will be on leave, according to the order.

"The Competent Authority has approved assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Steel to Dr. M M Kutty...Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas from 10.08.2019 to 19.08.2019 during the period of absence on leave of Binoy Kumar...," the official order said.
