Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Sanwarl Lal Jat launched the ministry's official Facebook page here today, a press release said.

Water Resources ministry joins Facebook
NEW DELHI: Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation today joined Facebook, in the light of Prime Minister's emphasis that all ministries should be active on the social media to disseminate the initiatives of the Government.

Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Sanwarl Lal Jat launched the ministry's official Facebook page here today, a press release said.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister expressed hope that the programmes and policies of the Ministry will reach to a wider audience with the ministry joining the social networking website.

He said that optimum utilisation of water is very important for a drought and flood prone country like India. Jat also stressed on the need for proper waste water management.

Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti was also present on the occasion.
