Watch how CISF personnel saved life of a passenger with quick action at Mumbai airport

The heroic effort from Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) security official saved a life in Mumbai when a passenger suffered a cardiac arrest at the Mumbai Domestic Terminal.

The incident happened yesterday when Satyanarayana Gubbala from Andhra Pradesh was flying from Mumbai to Hyderabad but suffered a cardiac arrest while passing through the security check. After Gubbala fell down unconscious due to cardiac arrest, CISF Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) Mohit Kumar Sharma, was posted as a screener on the airport, immediately rushed to his rescue. Seeing Gubbal collapsing on the floor, Kumar instantly provided cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) that saved his life.

CPR is an emergency process wherein chest compressions are combined with artificial ventilation to manually preserve intact brain function until further aid is provided to recover blood circulation and breathing in a person who is suffering from cardiac arrest.



The passenger was later attended to by the MIAL Doctor and was given the necessary first-aid and was also kept for some time in the airport for stabilization before he was shifted to Nanavati Hospital.

The initiative to provide CPR on time to the passenger by CISF personnel was praised by the other passengers, the MIAL medical team was also admired on Twitter.

Another alike incident took place in July this year when a US passenger, who was scheduled to fly from Delhi to Paris, fainted in the terminal area after arriving from Mumbai. "The CISF ASI administered CPR medical procedure to the passenger. The passenger soon regained his senses and was rushed to a hospital," an official said.
