Want to fight Lok Sabha polls? Pay Rs 25,000: AIADMK to party workers

After Punjab Congress, now AIADMK has asked its party workers, who are willing to contest in Lok Sabha elections, to apply for party tickets after paying Rs 25,000.

According to a statement from AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam and Joint Coordinator K Palaniswami, the application forms will be available from February 4 to February 10. The party has listed all the 40 constituencies including 39 seats in Tamil Nadu and 1 in Puducherry.

Those seeking an election ticket can pay a sum of Rs 25,000 towards application cost, the statement said.



AIADMK had issued a similar notification for the ticket seekers ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The party won 37 seats out of the 39 seats in the state.

Earlier, to help generate funds for the cash-starved party, Punjab Congress had also asked its party workers to apply for Lok Sabha with a fee of Rs 25,000. The application fee for the reserved category was set at Rs 20,000.
