Want confidence-building measures from central govt for J&K: Mehbooba Mufti
SRINAGAR: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said it was the central government, and not the BJP, that has to take confidence-building measures before she makes a decision on forming a government.

The BJP has maintained that it is in favour of the coalition and will adhere to the ‘Agenda of Alliance’. The BJP sought 10 days from governor NN Vohra to discuss issues with the PDP. Both Mehbooba and BJP’s Nirmal Singh conveyed their positions to the governor in Jammu on Tuesday.

“I want confidence-building measures, not from the BJP but Government of India, for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh,” Mehbooba said.

Singh said the BJP would “fulfil vision of Mufti saheb and Modiji”. Singh met Mehbooba in Jammu and the meeting, he said, was “cordial”.
