Vyapam scam: Only SC-monitored probe can find out truth, says Congress
NEW DELHI: The Congress has intensified its demand for a Supreme Court-monitored CBI probe into Madhya Pradesh’s Vyapam scandal, following the mysterious death of a TV journalist covering the scam and the dean of a Jabalpur medical college, who was reportedly linked to the investigations into the case.

On Sunday, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi attended the journalist’s cremation in Delhi. He was accompanied by AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh and chief of the party’s Delhi unit Ajay Maken. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia were also present.

Speaking to the media later, Digvijaya Singh said that only an SC-monitored probe can find out the truth into the scam since names of MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s top aides, his family members and many other powerful people have come into the matter. “The MP government must now tell either the high court where some Vyapam cases are being heard or the Supreme Court, where the PIL is coming up this week, if the state is ready for a CBI probe into the scam,” Singh said.

Singh also demanded that viscera samples of the dead journalist be examined by AIIMS doctors in Delhi.
