Vyapam Scam: Congress demands SC-monitored probe, Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation
NEW DELHI: The AICC on Wednesday said MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan offering to order a CBI probe was a "desperate move after reading the writing on the wall on the eve of the Supreme Court taking up a PIL". The party insisted on an SC monitored CBI probe into the scam and said the CM must quit.

"I thank God for instilling in the chief minister a belated sense to offer a CBI inquiry into the Vyapam scandal. Had he made this offer last year, many more frauds would not have happened, many innocent lives would not have been lost. But, the Congress is clear that only a weekly-basis SC-monitored CBI inquiry in an open court alone can unravel the truth and nail the guilty," AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh, whose PIL seeking a CBI probe, is slated to be taken up by the apex court on Thursday.

Congress’ Jyotiraditya Scindia while reiterating the demand for CM’s resignation said: "Chouhan, after he has allowed 49 people to die under his watch, says he is very sensitive and that he proposes to write to the high court recommending a CBI inquiry"
