Vyapam scam becomes world's 19th most viewed page on Wikipedia

BHOPAL: Vyapam scam has become world's 19th most viewed page on Wikipedia among 5,000 current international issues. Bollywood hit Baahubali is on the 9th position.

Wikipedia reported that in the week ending July 11, the page on Vyapam scam got 6,22,562 views from across the world against Bahubali's 8,10,328 views.

In another Wikipedia report, 'Most Popular Wikipedia Articles of the Week', Vyapam scam is on the 15th position in a list of 25, outpacing tennis sensation Roger Federer who is on the 16th position.

In this report, Wikipedia describes Vyapam scam as, "cheating scandal, in which candidates for government jobs in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh paid already qualified people to either impersonate them or to allow them to copy their answers, has engulfed doctors, politicians (including a former education minister) and other individuals throughout the state and involved a surprising number of suspicious deaths. This week the gradually unfolding mess was handed over to the CBI, the Indian equivalent of the FBI."
