Vyapam scam accused paid for Dharmendra Pradhan's air tickets: Congress

NEW DELHI: The Congress has dragged Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan into the Vyapam scam. The party alleged that an internal assessment document prepared by the income-tax department — after the 2013 raids in the houses and offices of mining baron and Vyapam accused Sudhir Sharma — has stated that the accused paid for air tickets of Pradhan. AICC leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala and Jairam Ramesh demanded that PM Modi ask Pradhan to quit the Cabinet in view of the charge.

They also said "the names of BJP national V-P Prabhat Jha, his two sons, RSS leader Suresh Soni and BJP MP Anil Dave also figured in the I-T report, based on seized documents, showing as having received payments from Sudhir Sharma and another accused Suryavanshi".
