VS Achuthanandan, Oommen Chandy continue verbal duel over solar panel scam
MALAPPURAM: With the slanging match over solar scam refusing to subside in Kerala, CPI(M) veteran V S Achuthanandan today accused Chief Minister Oommen Chandy of "clinging to power against the people's will" but the latter hit back saying he did no wrong.

Keeping up their protest demanding Chandy's resignation, pro-Left youth outfits held demonstrations at the venues of his programmes in Malappuram and Kozhikode district.

"Oommen Chandy should resign instead of clinging to power since people want it. If he declined to do so, people will rout him out," Achuthanandan told reporters at Malampuzha in Palakkad.

Reacting to Achuthanandan's assertion, Chandy said at Tirur in Malappuram that he had not committed any offence to face punishment.

"I have not committed anything to go to jail. Only those who have committed anything wrong need to be scared of punishment," Chandy told reporters.
