Vote on Account Bill: Puducherry Assembly prorogued

The Puducherry Assembly has been proroguged after it held a one day session on March 12 and passed Vote on Account Bill earmarking Rs 2,250.09 crore.

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Assembly has been proroguged after it held a one day session on March 12 and passed Vote on Account Bill earmarking Rs 2,250.09 crore for the period April-September) of fiscal 2014-15


The House adjourned after having just a 30 minute session that day.

Lt Governor Virendra Kataria prorogued the Assembly by an order, a notification from the Assembly Secretariat said.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy had presented the Bill for appropriation of funds through Vote on Account as a full fledged budget could not be presented due to the model code of conduct in force for the April 24 Lok Sabha poll.
