. The Election Commission has made special arrangements for people living in Indian territory but outside the barbed wire fencing, to exercise their votes.
The physically challenged, senior citizens over 80 years and Covid affected voters started exercising votes on Wednesday for the Tripura assembly under the 'vote from home' system. This category includes around 8,000 voters. The Election Commission has made special arrangements for people living in Indian territory but outside the barbed wire fencing, to exercise their votes. Tripura shares an 856-km border with Bangladesh. There are people living in no-man's land. These people move through the gates created by BSF.

Tripura CEO Gitte Kirankumar Dinkarrao said that the list of voters living outside the border fencing has been given to the BSF authorities. "Our officials have asked the BSF officials to cooperate with these voters on February 16," he told mediapersons. A state government official said all 32 police stations along the 856 km India-Bangladesh border with Tripura were working in close coordination with BSF.
