Vivek Kumar appointed Deputy Secretary in PMO

Kumar has been appointed for a period of three years or until further orders, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

NEW DELHI: IFS officer Vivek Kumar has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Kumar, a 2004 batch officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS), has been appointed for a period of three years or until further orders, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The government had on Wednesday appointed senior IAS officer Bhaskar Khulbe as Additional Secretary in the PMO. A 1983 batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre, Khulbe was working at the same level in the DoPT.

Khulbe has been appointed in place of R Ramanujam, who was working as Secretary in the PMO, and retired on completion of his extended tenure.
