Visiting Kartarpur: Indian form seeks details of Passport

NEW DELHI: Imran Khan-led Pakistani government may have waived the need for a passport for Sikhs pilgrims visiting Kartarpur corridor on Tuesday, but the online registration form compiled by India requires devotees to provide details of their valid passport, without which the electronic registration number will not be generated, ET has learnt.

The government said those visiting the corridor will have to give an “undertaking” stating that they will not indulge in any activity which is detrimental to the sovereignty, integrity and security of India or is in violation of laws of India. Authorities at Dera Baba Nanak are expecting a large number of visitors from across India on Tuesday.

At the time of online registration, an individual is also required to sign an undertaking stating that he or she “agree to strictly abide by the rules and regulation made by the Government of India to manage and regulate the smooth operations of the corridor and not use the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for any other purpose other than pilgrimage”.
