Vijay Salaskar's daughter Divya Salaskar gets state I-T job

MUMBAI: Two and half years after 26/11, the worst terror attack in Mumbai, the state government on Thursday gave the appointment letter to encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar's daughter Divya Salaskar for post of assistant commissioner state for sales tax (I-T). The home department on Thursday handed over the appointment letter to Divya and asked her to join the Mazgaon sales tax office.

Divya, the only daughter of Salaskar who was delighted after receiving the appointment letter told TOI that she will be joining the office on Friday.

Divya is the daughter of Vijay Salaskar who was killed in the exchange of firing with Pakistani terrorists at Cama lane on 26/11 along with two senior officials-Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare, Additional commissioner of police Ashok Kamat. As many as 19 policemen were killed in the line of duty in 26/11, 2008 terror attack in Mumbai. The Union government had given a handsome cash compensation as well allotted petrol pumps to the slain policemen's kin and had promised good job to their children.

Divya who has studied in Mumbai has done her Bacherlor degree in Economics DG Ruparel college and from Mumbai University and Master in Human Resources Management from University of Westminder, London last year.

Divya's mother Smita Salaskar who is now looking after the allotted petrol pump too is relieved after Divya's appointment.
