Vijay Bahuguna holds meetings with top officials

Uttarakhand CM Vijay Bahuguna today held meetings with top officials in the secretariat and went to the Congress headquarters here to meet party workers.

DEHRA DUN: In a bid to refurbish his image in the wake of crisis in the ruling Congress, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today held meetings with top officials in the secretariat and went to the Congress headquarters here to meet party workers.

"I will try my best to take Uttarakhand on the path of development", said Bahuguna as he directed the officials to work impartially as per the rules and in a time-bound manner without coming under political pressure.

The chief minister would shortly constitute his cabinet and prepare a blueprint for the overall development of the state, an official statement said.

He directed all the officials to prepare report cards of their respective departments so that the development schemes can be given an impetus and that money would not be a constraint for the development schemes, the statement said.

Bahguna also showed keen interest in the tourism sector where he said uttarakhand can take the lead and generate revenue.

Directing tourism secretary S S Sandhu to prepare a blue-print for tourism development in Tehri dam area, he said, help of the private sector can be taken in promoting tourism in the Tehri dam area.
