Victory of regional front: Mamata Banerjee on BSY's resignation
“Democracy wins. Congratulations Karnataka. Congratulations DeveGowda Ji, Kumaraswamy Ji, Congress and others. Victory of the 'regional' front,” Banerjee tweeted.

Banerjee had been instrumental in convincing JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda to take Congress support in forming the government in Karnataka and keep BJP out. In these last few days , Banerjee was in constant touch with both H D Deve Gowda and his son Kumaraswami , former chief minister of Karnataka.
“Democracy wins. Congratulations Karnataka. Congratulations DeveGowda Ji, Kumaraswamy Ji, Congress and others. Victory of the 'regional' front,” Banerjee tweeted.
According to sources, Banerjee advised JD(S) leaders to keep mounting pressure on BJP and take legal recourse , if required.
In an earlier tweet , Banerjee said, “We have great respect for the verdict of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. We will watch tomorrow’s floor test. We, the "regional" parties, will decide our next course of action after that.”
Significantly , Banerjee had been taking efforts for long to establish that no national party including BJP and Congress would emerge victorious without the help of regional parties. With the recent development in Karnataka , Mamata Banerjee nearly proved her point.
