Vicky Tyagi murder case: Attachment proceedings against five persons

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Attachment proceedings have been initiated against five persons, including a local BJP leader and his wife, today in connection with the murder of alleged gangster Vicky Tyagi here.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar has issued notices under section 82 of CrPC (notice for persons who are absconding) against local BJP leader Ranjanvir, his wife and Charthawal block pramukh Sonia, Rajvir Paramvir, Virender and has directed them to appear in the court before May 6.

The court had issued arrest warrants against the five in the case earlier, but they did not comply, following which Investigation officer, SP, city, Sarvan Kumar sought attachment proceedings under section 82 of CrPC against them, saying they were evading arrest in the case.

However, proceedings have not been sought against police officials accused in the case.

Vicky's mother Prabha Tyagi had lodged an FIR against several people, including Dy SP (STF) Anuj Choudhry, SHO, Titawi, Sachin Malik and constable Vikas.

An armed juvenile, who had entered a courtroom here masquerading as a lawyer, shot Tyagi on February 16.

The juvenile was arrested from the spot the same day and was sent to jail. Brijbir Singh, another accused in the case was nabbed the next day of the crime.

The deceased was one of the accused in the 2011 Barkali case, in which eight people of a family were killed.

A judicial inquiry was started into the Vicky's murder with Judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar recording statements of several policemen who were escorting Vicky at the time of the incident.
