Gujarat government today announced that it would set up a 'skill development corporation' to impart industrial training to the youth.

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat government today announced that it would set up a 'skill development corporation' to impart industrial training to the youth.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement during a panel discussion on skill development, a part of Vibrant Gujarat Summit, here.

Modi said his government had taken a "revolutionary" decision whereby two-year ITI diploma certificate would be equivalent to Class XIIth certificate.

As a result, ITI certificate-holders would be eligible for admission to higher education institutes like engineering colleges, he said.
