RAMESWARAM: Demanding total prohibition and removal of liquor shops in the state, the Vishwa Hindu today said it would hold a conference at Hosur on January 25 2015.

Speaking to reporters, senior VHP leader S Vedantham and Tamil Nadu unit leader R S Narayanasamy expressed concern over liquor menace ruining many families in Tamil Nadu and said an increasing number of youngsters, including school and college going school students, are becoming addicted to alcohol.

They claimed more than one lakh people would participate in the conference.

The VHP leaders demanded that government fill up posts of Joint Commissioner and other officials of various temples, which had been lying vacant for long.

They charged successive governments with not taking any action in this regard.
